Health Spa Waiver & Membership Terms

Effective Date: 8th May 2025 (Updated 6th January 2026)

All persons using the sauna and cold plunge facilities do so at their own risk.

If you have any reservations regarding use, such as medical conditions, underlying health issues, use of prescription drugs, or pregnancy, you must consult a physician before booking. By signing this waiver, you confirm you understand the risks and have consulted any necessary medical professionals. You take full responsibility for your own health and wellbeing.

General Rules

  • Alcohol, nudity, smoking, and vaping are not permitted.
  • Jewellery must be removed before using the sauna or ice baths.
  • Anyone under 16 is not permitted to use the sauna or ice baths.
  • Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Towels must be brought for personal use; towels are available to purchase, not hire.
  • Customers must not use the ice baths if they have had sickness or diarrhoea until at least 48 hours after symptoms have cleared.
  • Customers diagnosed with Cryptosporidium or Giardia must avoid ice baths for 14 days after their last symptom to reduce the risk of infection spread.

Sauna Use

  • Sessions must last no longer than 20 minutes at a time (10 minutes for first-time users).
  • Drink water before, during, and after sauna use.
  • Sauna scents, aromatherapy oils, and/or essential oils may be used during sessions.
  • If you have any allergies, sensitivities, asthma, or medical conditions that may be affected by scents or essential oils, you must inform a member of staff before using the sauna.
  • Follow all instructions on pouring water onto hot rocks.
  • Enter and exit promptly and safely, ensuring the door is closed.
  • Keep access points clear for safe exit.
  • Leave immediately if feeling nauseous, dizzy, or unwell.

Ice Bath Use

  • Use is at your own risk; you are responsible for ensuring you are physically capable of cold exposure.
  • Entry and exit points may be slippery—take extra care.
  • Surfaces around the sauna and baths may also be wet and slippery—walk carefully.

Credits & Booking

  • 1 Credit = 1 Contrast Therapy Session, which includes full access to the ice baths, sauna, and changing room.
  • Buying multiple credits does not automatically reserve spots. You must book each session after purchase.
  • Guests can be added to a booking once credits are purchased, but each person requires 1 credit per session.

Membership Terms

  • All memberships renew automatically each month using your original payment method.
  • To avoid further charges, you must cancel at least 7 days before your renewal date.
  • If you purchase an additional membership for more credits, your original membership will remain active unless cancelled. To avoid being charged for multiple memberships, please cancel your previous membership before starting a new one.

Group Bookings

If booking on behalf of others, you are responsible for ensuring all participants have read and signed this waiver, follow the rules, and understand what to bring.

Indemnification

The undersigned agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Recovery Cardiff Ltd, its agents, employees, and representatives from any and all losses, damages, injuries, claims, demands, lawsuits, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to use of the sauna, cold plunge, or activities on the premises, including legal fees and costs.  Recovery Cardiff Ltd reserves the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons or anyone deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be issued to those refused entry.  By signing this waiver, you agree to receive communication via email, with the option to unsubscribe at any time.

Acknowledgement of Risk

I acknowledge and accept the risks inherent in the use of the sauna and cold plunge facilities provided by Recovery Cardiff Ltd. I voluntarily assume the risk of injury, accident, or death arising from their use. I, and any of my heirs, executors, representatives, or assigns, hereby release Recovery Cardiff Ltd, its employees, contractors, and representatives from all claims or liabilities for personal injury or property damage sustained while on the premises, including any advice given..
